April 2008 Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards - Sydney wins World’s Best City 7 consecutive years in a row.
The Veolia Observatory of Urban Lifestyles international survey placed Sydney in the top three world cities for being an easy, pleasant, clean and charming place to live. The city was also praised for low levels of population density and proximity to nature.
March 2008 Sydney was voted “the number one city brand in the world” in the annual Anholt City Brands Index for the second year. Sydney took out the number one ranking ahead of London, Paris, Rome and New York.
December 2007 Sydney won Best Asia Pacific City at the Travel Weekly fifth annual Readers Choice Awards in New York. Travel Weekly is the national newspaper of the US travel industry, reaching 150,000 readers.
November 2007 The following winners were named in the World Travel Awards Australasia division: Australasia's Leading Destination – Sydney, Leading Airport - Sydney (Kingsford Smith) International Airport, Leading Casino Resort - Star City Hotel & Casino Sydney, Leading Conference Centre - Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, and Leading Conference Hotel - Sheraton on the Park, Sydney.
October 2007 Sydney voted number one city in the world at the US Condé Nast Traveler Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards in New York for a record 12th time. Sydney scored ahead of San Francisco, Florence, Cape Town, Rome, Bangkok and New York.
October 2007 NSW wins 12 out of 33 categories in the Restaurant & Catering Australia Awards for Excellence. This was more than any other state in Australia. Awards include Best Hotel/Motel Restaurant est. Establishment Hotel, Sydney Best Pub/Tavern/Club, The Restaurant at 3 Weeds, 3 Weeds Hotel, Rozelle and Best Specialty Cuisine, Kazbah on Darling, Balmain.
September 2007 UK Condé Nast Traveller 10th annual Readers Travel Awards 2007 - Sydney voted best city in the world UK Condé Nast Traveller readers also voted Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa plus the Observatory, Establishment, Park Hyatt and Four Seasons in Sydney amongst the top 20 best hotels in the Australasia and South Pacific region. Sydney airport ranked eighth in the Top 15 International Airports in the awards.

June 2007 Sydney Opera House gained World Heritage Status
January 2007 Seven NSW hotels made the US Condé Nast Traveler magazine annual Gold List for 2007. Four Seasons, Sydney; The Observatory Hotel; Sheraton on the Park, Sydney; Westin Sydney; Park Hyatt Sydney; Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa; and the InterContinental Sydney. January 2007 The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre has been voted the fifth best purpose built centre in Asia – and the best in Australia – by readers of the leading international business events publication, CEI Asia Pacific. The results are contained in CEI’s 2007 Industry Survey.
