About the Qantas A380
The introduction of the Qantas A380 represents a new era of flying for Qantas. A superior ground experience, inflight product and service offering, along with new technology, allow us to offer an exceptional customer experience. The A380 will deliver up to 10% improvement in fuel efficiency and carbon emissions per revenue tonne kilometre than today’s largest jets. It is also much quieter than other large aircraft.
When is the first A380 commercial flight?
The first commercial flight will operate between Los Angeles and Melbourne in late October 2008.
How many A380 aircraft will Qantas receive?
Qantas has ordered 20 aircraft to be delivered between August 2008 and the end of 2013.
On which routes will the A380 fly?
The Qantas A380 will be progressively introduced on selected flights from Los Angeles to Sydney and Melbourne from late October 2008 and on selected flights from London to Singapore and Sydney from mid January 2009.
